WHAT: Red Stoles Golf Tournament

WHEN: Sunday June 29, 2008, 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Wedgewood Golfer's Club, Olive Branch, MS

WHY: Past beneficiaries include DeSoto Sunrise Homes, the Samaritans, the DeSoto Wellness Center, the House of Grace, Habitat for Humanity, the Caritas Program, the youth of St. Timothy's and parishioners in need. HELP US HELP OTHERS.

COST: $100 per player. Hole sponsorships are $90. Bronze=$250, Silver=$500 (includes player's fees for four), Gold=$750 (includes player's fees for eight) and Platinum=$1000 (includes player's fees for eight and eight doezen golf balls).

AMENITITES: (Just to name a few) Blessing of the Putters; lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages along the course; team photo; goodie bags; trophies; door prizes; silent auction; and mini-events such as longest drive, closest to pin, and a chance to win a new vehicle with a hole-in-one on a par three hole.

St. Pierre's is hosting their annual Licensed Lay Ministries Workshop on Saturday, June 28, 2008. This counts for relicensing for "lay readers" and for those in training. All are welcome to attend.

Commemoration of the Life of Medgar Evers (All Saints, Jackson)

All Saints, St. Mark's, St. Christopher's, and St. Alexis of Jackson, MS are hosting a Commemoration of the Life of Medgar Evers at All Saints Episcopal Church, 147 Daniel Lake Blvd. in Jackson on Sunday, June 8, 2008.

There will be a Eucharist using a special Liturgy of Racial Reconciliation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Bishop Gray will be the celebrant and Governor William Winter will preach. The music for the service will feature the combined choirs and musicians of the host churches.

Following the service, there will be a celebratory barbeque/covered dish supper with live music.

This event is open to the public, and all Episcopalians are invited.

150th Anniversary Celebration (Good Shepherd, Terry)

The Church of the Good Shepherd, 109 West Claiborn, Terry, Mississippi, will hold its 150th anniversary celebration on June 8, 2008. The Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. followed by a dinner on the grounds at 11:30 a.m. A nursery will be provided.

Good Shepherd is thankful to be celebrating this historic occasion commemorating 150 years of continual witness to Christ and service to the community. The congregation invites everyone to come join in this celebration.

SonWorld: Adventure Park Vacation Bible School (St. Philip's, Jackson)

St. Philip's Vacation Bible School 2008 will be held June 2- 6, 2008, focused on the theme, Son World: Adventure Park VBS. Be sure to get your children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends registered. All children ages 4-12 welcome. There are still lots of spots to fill and room for all kinds of volunteers. With your help and prayers, we are looking forward to another great VBS experience at St. Philip's.
